Implant Dentistry Information

What are Implants?

Implants are a man-made titanium root that when placed in bone have the ability to bond or "integrate" to that bone. The dentist is capable of placing many attachments or "abutments" to this man-made root for restoring just one tooth, multiple teeth, or even a whole arch of teeth.

Who can get implants?

Any patient can receive implants. There are certain medical conditions that your dentist will want to be aware of to provide a complete and accurate prognosis for your implant restoration.

Does implant surgery hurt?

Placement of a dental implant is classified as a "surgical" procedure, but is a controlled and specific procedure. Post operative pain is expected depending on the procedure(s) involved, but the doctor will prescribe medications to help allevaite any pain that you may experience.
